TV Today Network has reported a standalone net profit of Rs 12.83 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2013, as against net loss of Rs 9.15 crore during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
Total income from operations stood at Rs 91.71 crore in Q2 FY14, a growth of 36 per cent from Rs 67.31 crore in Q2 FY13. Net sales were up by 35.94 per cent to Rs 91.45 crore in Q2 FY14 from Rs 67.27 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
TV Today reported an increase of 35.50 per cent in revenue from TV broadcasting at Rs 87.62 crore in Q2 FY14, as compared to Rs 64.66 crore in Q2 FY13.
Revenue from FM radio broadcasting was up by 53.96 per cent at Rs 4.08 crore from Rs 2.65 crore in Q2 FY13. TV Today’s expenditure on advertisement, distribution and sales promotion during Q2 FY14 stood at Rs 22.93 crore, up 6 per cent from Rs 21.67 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal.
As is known, TV Today currently runs four 24-hour news and current affairs channels – Aaj Tak, Dilli Aaj Tak and Tez in Hindi and Headlines Today in English.
